SP app users can now charge their EVs seamlessly when driving into Malaysia. From 30 October 2025, selected JomCharge EV chargers operated by EV Connection (EVC) – Malaysia’s leading EV charging company will be made available on the SP app. This cross-border collaboration enables EV drivers to locate, start charge and pay for EV charging sessions within the app when they are in Malaysia.

Users of both apps will enjoy cross-network access in-app. Which means, JomCharge app users can now charge their EV at SP Mobility’s network in Singapore, and SP app users can charge at JomCharge’s chargers in Malaysia. Customers will only be required to download either the JomCharge app or SP app. This latest enhancement of integrated roaming capability offers greater convenience to EV drivers on both sides of the causeway and alleviates range anxiety.

1. Who is JomCharge?
JomCharge is Malaysia’s leading EV charging company with over 1,200 charging points at more than 400 charging locations across Malaysia as of October 2025. For our initial launch, a small segment of JomCharge’s charging network is open for SP app users. This will be expanded over time.
2. How does the cross-border EV charging work?
Our partnership with JomCharge makes it easy for you to charge your EV in Singapore and Malaysia. You can use the SP app or JomCharge app at EV chargers owned and operated by the 2 companies. Singapore-based SP app users must turn on data roaming on the phone and log in to the SP app account to locate available JomCharge EV chargers, start charge and pay using the app; and vice-versa for Malaysia-based JomCharge app users.
3. Where are the JomCharge EV chargers that SP app users can use in Malaysia?
From the SP app, you can see the JomCharge EV chargers will have “(JomCharge)” indicated at the back of the name of the respective charging point in the SP app. For example, OCBC Bangsar One (JomCharge). Alternatively, you can also search by keying in the word “Malaysia” in the search bar for charger location.
4. How will I get billed for my cross-border EV charging?
All roaming EV charging transactions will be charged to the payment card that you have registered on the SP app. You will be billed in Singapore Dollars (SGD) based on the prevailing exchange rate. You will not have the option to choose the currency to pay with. In addition, please note that a platform fee of 5% of your total EV charging bill will apply for such roaming transactions. It will also be billed in SGD and GST (9% as of October 2025) is applicable.
5. Are ChargeUP reward points and other SP app benefits such as discounts, subscription rates, and charging credits/ vouchers when I charge my EV at JomCharge EV chargers using SP app in Malaysia?
ChargeUP reward points and SP app benefits such as discounts, subscription rates, and charging credits are only available for EV charging sessions in Singapore. These rewards and benefits are not available in Malaysia.
6. Can I use Guest Checkout at JomCharge EV chargers?
No, Guest Checkout is not supported.
7. Do I have to bring my own EV charging cable along when charging in Malaysia?
As of now, JomCharge’s roaming chargers have their own charging cable. You do not need to bring your own.
